Good to know before you go
- The American Legation is open Monday to Friday (10 am–1 pm and 3 pm–5 pm) according to the Contact page of legation.org, consulted on 16 October 2026; another page on the same site also mentions weekend opening: on a Saturday or Sunday, phone ahead.
- Kasbah Museum: the official page (fnm.ma, 16 October 2026) states both that it is open 7 days a week and that it is closed on Tuesdays. Avoid Tuesday or confirm on site.
- Day 2: the grand taxi fare for the Atlantic coast is not documented. Agree on the return fare and the waiting time before setting off.
- No time is planned for meals: add it on top, for example in the medina on day 1 and near Achakar or on the way back on day 2.
What this calculation does not include
- Meals and breaks: no time is set aside. The time chosen per day only covers visits and journeys between stops: add your own breaks.
- Return: the journey from the last stop back to the starting point is not counted in the time; it is shown under each day. Each day starts again from the starting point.
- Opening hours and days: the order of the stops does not take opening hours or closing days into account. Published opening hours for American Legation, Kasbah and Kasbah Museum, Cape Spartel, Caves of Hercules: read them on each page before you set off. Opening hours not documented: Petit Socco (Souk Dakhli), Café Hafa.
