Al Boraq in brief

From Tangier, it is the fastest way to reach Rabat and Casablanca, and the first leg of the journey to Fes, Meknes and Marrakech.

Booking your ticket
Sales open three months before departure on oncf-voyages.ma, the ONCF website. Seat61 also mentions resellers (12go.com, bookaway.com) and the station ticket office. To Fes, Meknes and Marrakech
For Fes and Meknes, Seat61 gives two options: Al Boraq to Kenitra then a classic Al Atlas train (about 2 h 40 to Meknes and 3 h 25 to Fes in total), or a direct classic train (about 4 h 13 to Fes, four departures a day). For Marrakech, there is no direct high-speed train: you take Al Boraq to Casablanca then an Al Atlas train, about 5 h 15 in total, for 186 to 338 MAD in 2nd class. A night train also runs from Tangier to Marrakech (leaving 23:25, arriving 09:01 according to Seat61). Work to extend high-speed rail to Marrakech may change these timetables: check the ONCF website.
Tanger Ville station
Practical tips
Arrive at the station about twenty minutes before departure: tickets are usually checked at the entrance to the platforms. Keep your ticket (paper or on your phone) until you exit. The train is comfortable for luggage, but space is limited at peak times. For a day in Rabat from Tangier, the first morning train and a return in the late afternoon are enough.
